USL Adopts Age-Appropriate Youth Rules

BALTIMORE, Sept. 15, 2011 us-lacrosseThe US Lacrosse Board of Directors voted Saturday to approve age-appropriate, national playing rules for youth boys’ lacrosse and youth girls’ lacrosse, as recommended by the US Lacrosse Men’s and Women’s Game committees, respectively. The vote implements the rules for the 2012 season, including the annual US Lacrosse Regional and National Championships slated for June and July, respectively."Ensuring a positive youth lacrosse experience remains at the core of US Lacrosse’s operations, and passage of the youth rules represents an important first step in moving the youth game from good to great," said Lee Stevens, chair of the US Lacrosse Board of Directors.

Any wall will work, but a smooth concrete wall at least 10 feet tall is the best surface.

  - Use your gloves when performing this routine.

  - Stand about five yards from the wall.

  - Perform this routine 4 to 5 times a week for 15 to 20 minutes and your stick skills will improve a great deal in a very short   period of time.

From the team standpoint, control of ground balls means more possession time and more scoring chances, as well as keeping the ball away from the opponent’s offense. From a personal standpoint, your effort on ground balls will show your coach and teammates that you’re committed to doing the little stuff to help your team win games. Coaches, Player and Parent Conduct (Sportsmanship & Etiquette)

The essential elements of the ""Code of Conduct"" must be adhered to.
Sportsmanship and teaching the concepts of fair play are essential to the game, and must be taught and developed both at home and on the field during practices and games.

The value of good sportsmanship, concepts of fair play, and the skills of the game should never be placed before winning. 

Derogatory comments are unacceptable. Use positive reinforcement with players and adults alike. It should be remembered that criticism, once made, can never be retracted.

The safety and welfare of the players are of primary importance
